Itinerary:
DAY 1: ARRIVE AT LEH
Arrival at Leh Kushok Bakula Airport (This must be one of the most sensational flights in the world. On a clear day, from one side of the aircraft, the peaks of K2, Nanga Parbat, and Gasherbrum can be seen; on the other side, the Nun Kun massif feels so close you could almost touch it). Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel for check-in. Complete day for rest and leisure to acclimatize, followed by welcome tea or coffee at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 2: LEH - EXCURSION TO KHARDUNGLA TOP
Post breakfast, we drive to Khardung La (The Highest Motorable Road in The World) at 5,602 Mtrs / 18,390 Ft, around 39 km from Leh. From the pass, one can see the Indus Valley to the south with endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and to the north, the giants of the Saser massif. The views from the top of the pass are stunning. Return to the hotel in time for lunch. In the afternoon, stroll around the marketplace for some last-minute souvenir shopping. Enjoy your dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 3: LEH - EXCURSION TO PANGONG LAKE – LEH
After an early breakfast, we leave for Pangong Lake via Changla Pass (5,486 Mtrs). The long, easy ascent takes you through Sakti Village. Stop at Changla Pass for photographs and drive down to Tangtse village for tea. Continuing towards Pangong, you’ll pass through a few small villages of Changthang and finally arrive at the breathtaking Pangong Lake, situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m).
DAY 4: NUBRA VALLEY TO PANGONG LAKE
Post breakfast, we drive towards Pangong Tso via Agham and Shyok Valley. Some road patches are extremely rough near the Nubra side, but the journey is incredibly scenic! After crossing this adventurous stretch, continue through Durbuk and Tangtse towards Pangong. The lake, 5–6 km wide and over 133 km long, lies partly on the Indian side and partly across the Indo-China border. The famous blue brackish waters of Pangong are a sight to behold.
DAY 5: PANGONG LAKE TO LEH VIA CHANGLA
Morning at leisure to enjoy the beauty of the lake. Later, drive back to Leh via Changla Pass (5,486 Mtrs). En route, visit Thiksey Monastery — an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village — and Shey Palace, the ancient capital of Ladakh. Also visit the famous 3 Idiots Rancho School. Continue to Leh and check into your hotel for an overnight stay.
DAY 6: LEH – AT LEISURE
Complete day at leisure to explore the destination on your own. Overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 7: DEPART LEH - FLY OUT!
Tour concludes. Thank you for your patronage. Transfer to the domestic airport to catch your flight for onward destination.
